Al Kennedy High School continues to utilize Al’s method of providing
enriching experiences in the field to promote student learning. Over
the last eight years, the school has refined the use of sustainability
as a theme to teach academic skills and provide relevant connections
to students. Local agencies have partnered with Kennedy to provide
work experience, outdoor science opportunities, and events to serve
Recently, the administration has implemented structures to improve
attendance, add support for reluctant learners, and successfully
advocated for more staff in order to have highly qualified teachers
guiding the learning in all the essential skills.
Collaboration is integral to professional work at Kennedy. Once a
month, cohort teachers spend a full day collaborating on lessons,
differentiation for students, engagement strategies, collective
problem solving, charting growth data, and more.
