Al Kennedy High School engages students in authentic, cooperative learning focused on connections between self, school, community and the world.

Background

Al Kennedy High School continues to utilize Al's method of providing enriching experiences in the field to promote student learning.

Over the past two decades, the school has refined the use of sustainability as a theme to teach academic skills and provide relevant connections to students. Local agencies have partnered with AKHS to provide work experience, outdoor science opportunities, and events to serve the community.

Al Kennedy High School staff continue Al's techniques of experiential learning, by taking students on field trips multiple times a month where they are able to learn through exploring post-secondary options, career technical opportunities and the world around us.
